In this verse, God states that He is looking for people who want to know Him. God longs to be close to us! People frequently feel that in spite of their efforts they can't get close to God. In childhood, they may have failed in their attempts to become intimate with their earthly father. They assume that God is a heavenly version of their earthly father. They wrongly transfer their feelings of being rejected by their earthly father to feelings of being rejected by their heavenly Father. This passage of scripture shows us that, in reality, God is yearning for intimacy with us and even looking to and fro throughout the whole earth for those who are willing to accept intimacy with Him. He longs to show us how strong He can be in our lives if our hearts (mind,emotions,and will) are yeilded to him
