FMNJ news "time to smoke a fatty" this just in (Marijuana has lower cancer risk than tobacco)

WEDNESDAY, Oct. 19 (HealthDay News) -- Even though they're chemically similar, marijuana smoke is less likely than tobacco smoke to cause cancer, according to one expert review of the literature.

The review, by Dr. Robert Melamede of the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, noted that tobacco and marijuana smoke differ in a number of ways, particularly in the fact that marijuana smoke contains tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) , while tobacco smoke contains nicotine. Nicotine increases the cancer-promoting effects of smoke, while THC reduces those effects, he explained.


And even though THC and nicotine act on related cellular pathways, they bind to different receptors to activate these pathways, the review found. Cells in the lungs and respiratory passages are lined with nicotine receptors but these cells don't appear to have THC receptors. This may explain why smoking marijuana has so far not been linked with lung cancer, a major cause of death from cigarette smoking.


Research has also shown that marijuana kills cancer cells and reduces tumor growth. This is, in part, because marijuana reduces the formation of blood vessels that nourish tumors.


However, the review warned that the effects of marijuana are complex and sometimes contradictory. It also noted that many people use marijuana and tobacco together, and the two drugs may interact in complex ways.


While some governments are reluctant to approve marijuana for medicinal use, the review noted that there's increasing evidence that marijuana can improve the lives of patients with a broad range of health problems, including insomnia, AIDS, multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer's disease.


The review will be published in an upcoming issue of the journal Harm Reduction.

Franklin Mining, Inc. signs M.O.U for Hydro Units with Internal Hydro International for Bolivia

TAMPA, Fla., Oct 19, 2005 (PRIMEZONE via COMTEX) -- Internal Hydro Inc. (OTCBB: IHDR) has entered into a memorandum of understanding for the purchase of a 30 KW small impact hydro-generators unit with Franklin Mining, Inc. (Pink Sheets:FMNJ) and for rights for future sales in Bolivia. Future 30 Kw units for Bolivia could support hundreds in the first year orders.
"We hope that this unit will help us address our electricity requirements in Bolivia. Our operations have very limited electricity available to it due to their isolation. We currently run on diesel generators due to the shortages of Diesel this year and our operations have been limited. These new generators run off the water energy from the river and will have no energy expense to run these generators. We are very excited about the possibility of putting these units in. We hope that this will help us increase operational time, cut our energy cost and utilize the diesel for our earth moving machines," said Jaime Melgarejo, Jr., President of Franklin Mining.

"The exclusive rights for Bolivia is very interesting for us also. We feel that there would be a great demand and we can market these units under Franklin Oil & Gas for the production of electricity for river based villages throughout Bolivia. Funding for providing electricity to rural areas should be available though World Bank Programs. This would enable us to create cash flow and would allow us to diversify our portfolio for the company," continued Melgarejo.

IHDR will supply to Franklin one of the first short-term production units for fielding in its operations under the purchase agreement. With a population of over 9 million persons, and a hydroelectric generation potential second only to Argentina in South America, both companies foresee the large-scale use of such electric generation units from IHDR.

If you trade and post during the day,,, one can naturally expect their ego to become invloved,,, I see it like this - u post then u see the reply of another poster,,, either way you are triggered,, if they agree wiht you -- your EGO is reinforced,,, If they disagree your EGO is challenged. Before going further, when I say EGO I mean the concept of ones self. Ok so when that becomes involved the biggest danger is that of falling in love or hate with the stock - neither of these two emotions will do you any good when trading,,, to trade you need to detach from Ego, who is the driver of greed ( I am not enough and need more) and as well from fear ( I am not enough and must protect what I have)... this detachment begins our journey into gaining "Trading Control"

DT great insight here---I tend to get helped on trading when I can I remember the market is like a river-- when my flow is blocked (looseing cash or making none) seeing it like a river helps me break my "dam" I can go anywhere I want and feel the flow(CASH)-the river is always flowing so there is no excuse for being stuck.

Chapter TWO

Nice Board!! Here's one I would like to share with the board; I bought 10K of DCUT last Monday at .095 and then I bought 10K more at .10 as I thought the seller was gone and the stock started back up. The chart was screaming "Oversold!" DCUT closed down around .09 on Monday night. On Tuesday it fell to .08 and I bought 15.5 K more as I thought that .08 was the absolute bottom! Wrong, they closed it down around .075! On Wednesday they took it back up to .09 in the morning and I felt great! A couple of hours later it was back to .073 on the bid and it closed at .073. I felt terrible because I didn't get out at .085 earlier in the day! Being down for three days I decided to sell first thing Thursday morning to stop any further loss! I dumped all 35,500 shares at .073 for a $700 loss only to have the stock close up to .077 on Thursday. Friday it ran to .109 at the high! What did I do wrong?

I watched every tic on the ticker! That was my first mistake! The MM's were able to break me down and shook me out even though I knew that DCUT was extremely oversold! Had I just shut the computer down for 1 day and gotten away from it DCUT would have been an excellent trade for me instead of a bad one. I knew better than to sell but with so much riding on it I was shaken out! My original target for DCUT was .15 cents, but I bet it blows right past that next week. I guess it happens to the best of us. I'm not upset or mad about this as I used this as a learning experience. As far as the $700 I will make that back in a week or two on something else.

If you place a 'stop loss' trade and then go off to work with piece of mind, you're just giving the MM's more 'AMMO' to play with a position.

It allows them to fill gaps easily with you're $$, they also pick up a ton of cheap shares on the way by! They can use them as steping stones to take the bid/ask to wherever they like without getting their 'toes wet'!

If you use a stop loss as a 'babysitter' in the AM, be prepared to be po'd in the PM! Don't blame the MM's for reaching down and taking your shares then let the position run to the next level.

BASHERS 101, send this to the printer!

1: Remember, BASHERS NEVER Bash A BAD STOCK. Check the boards for stocks with no potential. They never have any Bashers. Bashers only go after stocks that are moving up or have excellent potential to do so. Bashers work to bring the price down to either increase their position at the expense of others or help a Short make their bones.

2: BASHERS ALWAYS BRING UP OLD NEWS THAT YOU HAVE HEARD MANY TIMES. New startup companies always have a few bits of bad news. The Basher will post this over and over again. Unsophisticated Bashers will try to freshen up old news with a new date or by-line in an attempt to fool you.

3: BASHERS POST MANY TIMES A DAY. They try to wear you out. They comment on everything, every other post, and can answer every question. THEY KNOW IT ALL! There is no positive comment they won't Bash. They try to control the board. True longs may have to confront the Bashers or they will appear to the newbies as being the people with all the information. This is best accomplished by posting positive, well researched data on the company, repetitively, while trying hard not to engage the Bashers in direct repartee. REMEMBER - LONGS... RESIST USING THE BASHERS ALIAS!

4: BASHERS WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE. Never trust a Basher. The truth on startup companies is that they make mistakes. What new company hasn't? The Basher will compare your issue to a another companies, financials - deals - management, etc., trying to lure you into making an Apples to Oranges comparison. Remember each company is unique and while it is prudent to seek out established indicators, do so with care and don't take someone else's word for it. Strive to come up with at least a "six-pack" of indicators so your vision of the state of a company is not tied to a single barometer. Not doing so is tantamount to going to a Race Track and betting on the "Pretty Brown Horsey". BASHERS WANT TO WHISPER IN YOUR EAR - PLANT A SEED OF DOUBT, AND HOPE THAT YOU ARE NOT SAVVY ENOUGH TO RESEARCH THE TRUTH ON YOUR OWN. This is how they achieve their greatest success. DOUBT + FEAR + LAZINESS = BAIL OUT! This is your investment... work for it, protect it and don't panic on the words of very shadowy figure that "has your best interest in their heart". Consider that one factor: Someone you have never met, is not a member of your family, is now, out of the goodness of their hearts - GIVING YOU FREE ADVICE (that you didn't ask for). It's a no brainer. They have motives $$$$$$$$$$$$.

Lesson 5: Bashers know YOU CAN'T VERIFY THEIR STATEMENTS. That's why they make the vague statements they do. They rely on you being to lazy to research their droppings other than to scan the board for others opinions. This is particularly dangerous when you consider that Bashers work in packs and often validate and back up each others nonsense with what appears to be "innocuous and unsolicited" verification by comrade Bashers. Let's face it, we are all conditioned to "believe" everything we see in writing. If others by virtue of their "posts" also confirm this belief, then we are subconsciously doomed to swallow the hook, line and sinker... Basher - 1 Honest Investor - 0

Lesson 6: The Bashers PLAY ON YOUR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. They can lie about information and you won't know the difference (unless you have done your own DD on the company and know the truth and facts).


Lesson 7: Bashers play on your lack of patience. You have held a stock for a while. You knew it will be a big stock someday, but the BASHER CAN GET TO YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE TIRED OF WAITING FOR YOUR GAIN. That's when the Basher is best. You are tired. You have forgotten the goal for the stock was to hold it for one year. The Basher is bothersome, so you dump it on a bad day. Some others also dump. Then you get mad for your loss and return to let everyone know how mad you are. Then you turn into a semi-Basher as well. THE BASHER HAS WON, AND GAINED A NEW ALLY - YOU!

Lesson 8: BRING THE PRICE DOWN. That is the Basher's job. The truth is not important. Lies are the norm. Post continuously on the board every day. They are trying to scare the newbies that are just investigating a stock. They are trying to wear down the faithful longs on the board and gain free reign and control.

Since the MM's play upon your emotions to make them money, I have used reverse psychology to achieve capital gains....
